08-09 March 2023: RUL Open Access Colloquium - Climate Justice through Open knowledge

Climate Justice is an explicit acknowledgement that the climate crisis has far-reaching effects, and the impacts will “not be borne equally or fairly, between rich and poor, women and men, and older and younger generations.” These inequalities also affect communities’ abilities to produce, disseminate, and use knowledge around the climate crisis. Openness can create pathways to more equitable knowledge sharing and serve as a means to address the inequities that shape the impacts of climate change and our responses to them.”

Rhodes University Library will be hosting a two-day hybrid Open Science Colloquium, Open Science Colloquium – Climate Justice through Open Knowledge on the 08 – 09 March 2023.
This collaborative initiative by various stakeholders is meant to showcase how Rhodes contributes to open scholarship and  knowledge sharing.
The event will occur both virtually and onsite at the Amazwi Museum of Literature on the mornings of the 8 & 9 March 2023.
Come and collaborate, learn and share as we advance the open science agenda in Higher education.
