Digital Scholarship: Open Peer Review

Digital Scholarship encompasses the use of digital evidence, methods of inquiry, research, publication and preservation to achieve scholarly and research goals.

What is Open Peer Review?

Open peer review may be defined as "any scholarly review mechanism providing disclosure of author and referee identities to one another at any point during the peer review or publication process". Then reviewer's identities may or may not be disclosed to the public.

Open Peer review aims to resolve a lot of the drawbacks in the current peer review system by making the process more open and engaging.

Open Peer Review: Peer validation process conducted openly on the Internet.
